HP Pavilion TS Sleekbook 15
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
I have a Sleekbook and yesterday the wireless button got "stuck" on amber. I can press it repeatedly and this simply takes my laptop in and out of airplane more.  I have rebooted, reset the BIOS default settings (which worked the first few times but isn't working now), I have updated the wireless adaptor driver, the wireless button driver  and the network driver - all of which have not helped. I have restored to a previous date (3 weeks ago) which helped for a bit but then the system did an update and I had to reboot and now it's all back the way it was.  PLEASE can someone help me with this as I am not at home, don't have full access to the internet (I'm using up my mobile data for this message) and don't have a clean usb stick so a full BIOS reset is out of the question.  Because I don't have wireless internet or a printer nearby I can't download loads of stuff or print documents I need when the computer is shut down.    My computer details:  Product name: HP Pavilion TS Sleekbook 15 Product number: D4L77EA#ABU Windows 10 Home 64-bit    Thanks.

Hey @Deolvroo,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums! This is a great place to find solutions and help from our community!

I understand you're experiencing some issues with networking on your HP Sleekbook. I'd be happy to help you with that.

The following pages are helpful when troubleshooting wireless connectivity issues.
Troubleshooting wireless network and Internet (Windows 10)

Also, you can look at the power management for your wireless adapter:
Disable the Power Off option for the adapter:
1. Open Device Manager. (Win Key+R > type devmgmt.msc > OK)
2. Expand the Network adapters.
3. Right click on the Ethernet/Wireless Adapter and click Properties.
4. Click the Power Management tab.
5. Remove the check mark beside Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
6. Click OK.
7. Test.

Forget a Network (Windows 10)
Forget Wireless Network Profiles in Windows 10

Reset the TCP/IP settings on your PC:
1. Go to your start screen/menu and type CMD.
2. Right-click on the command prompt icon and chose Run as administrator.
3. In the window that opens type "netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt" without quotes, and press enter.
4. Restart your PC and test.

It may also help to reset the Winsock catalogue:
1. Go to your start screen/menu and type CMD.
2. Right-click on the command prompt icon and chose Run as administrator.
3. In the window that opens type "netsh winsock reset" without quotes, and press enter.
4. Restart your PC and test.

Reinstall the network adapter drivers:
1. Download the drivers from http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers but do not run them yet.
2. Go to your start screen/menu and type Device Manager.
3. Expand Network adapters.
4. Right click on the wireless adapter and choose Uninstall.
5. Run the downloaded drivers from step 1.
6. Restart your PC and test.

Test an Ethernet connection:
Self-explanatory. Test if the issue persists on a wired connection to rule out the wireless adapter hardware so troubleshooting can be directed towards the right areas.

Test another connection:
Many people rule out their home network as an issue if another device is working on the same network. Networking is not that simple. Each device interacts differently with your router or modem and it is impossible to rule out settings in that device until the notebook has been tested on another network.

Thanks for help. I did steps 1, 2 and 3 and my wireless is now working as it should. Fingers crossed.

The fixes that I applied only worked for about 3 weeks and now my wireless switches itself off intermittently. I have to restart my laptop a few times to get it to work again. I sometimes have to F10 and then F9 to reset to default to get it to work but now it's not working. Even though I have followed all the steps in the troubleshooting info I received, the wireless button is now permanently amber and won't connect to the internet. I am currently tethering my laptop through my phone... please help. I am at wit's end here....
