Wireless connectivity to internet

Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an HP 17-by0062st laptop – with Windows 10 on it. When I close the cover, it is set to Sleep. Problem is that when I reopen the cover, it takes 3-5 minutes for the laptop to connect to my wireless network. Why does it take this long and what can I do about it?

Windows 10 us the most current version.

You can stop this by allow the wifi adapter to stay up during sleep.  Please try: do not put wifi adapter on your computer off during sleep

(a) Open Device Manager,

(b) Locate Network adapters, Wifi adapter

(c) Right click and select Properties

(d) Go to Power Management and remove tick as shown

(e) Click Apply/Ok

Note: I keep tick on my machine.

Regards.
