Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

Hello, recently for some reason my windows10 64bit suddenly decided to disable my network adapters for good, it was so weird not being able to connect to the internet while i was connected last night, so i decided to give a format and installed the good old windows7 32 bit, i have installed all the needed drivers through hp website...except wireless adapter. I have downloaded all the 4 drivers for Qualcomm atheros on hp support and it didnt help, also tried Ralink 802.11 b/g/n Wireless LAN Adapter Driver.. still didnt help, i am sure it was Qualcomm when i was using windows10, i have no wireless adapter so i cant use my laptop in wireless mode, i really need a big help here, what i am missing? What is really wrong? Many thanks to all for your answers and help.

You're very welcome.

That's not the wifi adapter that needs a driver.

You need this driver for that device...

This package provides the HP 3D DriveGuard Software for supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system. The HP 3D DriveGuard Software protects the hard drive by parking the heads if the notebook is accidentally dropped, or is abruptly impacted by another object.

If you don't see a Network Controller device listed in the device manager, and you don't see some model wifi adapter listed under the Network Adapters device manager category, install this software, restart the PC and see if you can get the wifi to show up by using the software controls.

This package provides the HP Connection Manager for supported notebook models running a supported operating system.

If that doesn't work either, then the reason your wifi adapter disappeared in W10 is the same reason it disappeared in W7.  It is either dead, or needs to be removed and reseated, due to oxidized contacts between the adapter and the slot it plugs into.

Hi:

If the wifi card needs a driver, there will be a device showing up in the device manager labeled as a Network Controller.

Please post the hardware ID for the Network Controller device so I can see what wifi driver it needs.

Use this guide to find the hardware ID for a device...

I was thinking that maybe the network adapter is too new for the good old windows 7, then considering the age of my probook it shouldn’t be the case really... i will definitely have a look and send a message as soon as i get some information, have a great evening Paul, thanks again&again.

Hi, just an update in order to end this thread. I was keep trying to install the very right drivers and it was keep saying hardware ejected so it was not normal so i decided to take the wireless hardware out from my notebook, after couple of trying i realised that the wireless unit was dead, i bought another off of internet, now waiting it to be delivered, i bought wireless usb adapter before to continue using internet (tp-link) which cost me £14.99, well i am glad that my laptop will work %100, thanks guys
