Envy
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I get "bluetooth module id (704)" error on a Envy laptop (model 15t-ae100) when trying to use an Intel  9260NGW wifi card.   BIOS is F.49.   HP Support Assistant shows no pending updates.    If the message is correct, where's a list of permitted cards?

Hi:

See chapter 3, page 19 of the service manual for the list of supported wifi adapters with their HP part numbers.

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04691689

Note:  Any dual band wifi adapter requires that there be two antenna leads connected to it.

Since the Intel card is being rejected by the BIOS, there must be a whitelist in that model series, so only purchase one of the wifi adapters listed in the manual with the HP part number on the card.

You can by from any source (amazon, eBay)  but do your search by the part number, not the model of the wifi adapter.

Too bad that information isn't included with the BIOS update.  Thanks for letting me know where it's located.
