HP Pavilion Notebook 17-ab005ns

Good afternoon,

In the past week, I have been experiencing issues with the Wi-Fi connection. For short periods, I would lose connection to any nearby network. Two days ago,  the Wi-Fi connection stopped working for a long time, so I decided to investigate how to fix the problem. I uninstalled the wireless network driver, thinking it would automatically reinstall (but it didn't), and I tried installing a driver recommended by HP support for my specific PC model from another PC and transferring it via a USB drive. However, when I run it, it doesn't finish installing on the system; it stops at a certain point. I also tried another driver for a similar model, but it also doesn't finish installing. Any advice is welcome!

Hi:

The only suggestion I can offer would be to install the latest Wi-Fi and Bluetooth drivers from the Intel website:

These are the final drivers Intel released for your notebook's Wi-Fi adapter.

Intel® Wireless Wi-Fi Drivers for Wireless-AC 7265 (Rev. D), 3168 and 3165

Intel® Wireless Bluetooth® Drivers for Wireless-AC 7265 (Rev. D), 3168 and 3165

Hi Paul,

Thanks for helping me. However, the drivers you recommended didn’t work for me because it seems my laptop uses Realtek. The installation does complete, unlike the previous ones I tried, but in the Device Manager, it doesn't show up under the network adapters section, and wifi doesnt work either. If you have any suggestions on how I can get the Realtek driver for my PC, I would really appreciate it.

You're very welcome.

That's interesting because the product specs indicate your notebook comes with the Intel Wi-Fi adapter.

If HP substituted the Intel card with the RTL8822BE Wi-Fi adapter, here are the latest Wi-Fi and Bluetooth drivers for that model card.

Realtek RTL8xxx Wireless LAN Drivers

sp155768.exe

Realtek RTL8xxx Series Bluetooth Driver

sp155460.exe

They doesn't work either. The installation completes normally too, but it doesn't show up under the network adapters section. Same as the others drivers you recommended.

Unfortunately, I don't have any other suggestions for you to try.

Thank you Paul for your time, I really appreciate it.

Don't you think it could be a hardware issue?

Almost identical problem. I also uninstalled my Wi-Fi driver tried resetting so it would reinstall and now it says it's connected to Wi-Fi but as soon as I search for something on edge or any other browser or anything online it says you must be online to do this you're not connected to the internet this is b*******. I haven't had this HP 14 even one year yet I think it's about 8 months old I hardly ever use it and now what I'm trying to get in touch with someone through HP to see if my warranty is still good ..they just bounce me around.
