Windows trubleshooter gives the message"wireless network is not turned on. Use the switch or the function keys..". I simutaneosly push the fn+f12 keys but led remains orange. Is there a driver for the CQ57-229wm Presario notebook for win10 home x64 edition available? I don't want to reset the pc or go back to win7. Please help!

Hi:
The only suggestion I can offer would be to see this discussion below.
This member had a notebook of the same model series and in your case installing the wireless button driver from the link he posted may resolve the issue.

Hi Paul...
I went to the site to download the driver and apparently I am required to pay a fee and update Java. Updating Java sounds like abit suspicous. I am up to date on Java. They offer 2 options for download.
1.) Regular speed(free) est dl time 1 sec. 2.) High speed ($$) est dl time 1 sec. Of course I selected the free option but it only brought me too an add to join the site.
I tried upgrading to a Wifi card with Bluetooth support as this card is wifi only. Bios did not like it. "This device is not supported. Remove device ...ect." I removed it and put the old card back in. I enabled the function keys in the bios but all I get is "Airplane mode is on/off" messages and the led on the f12 remains amber. (should turn white).
Windows tell me to turn wifi on via switch or function keys. I am looking more towards a usb wifi adaptor.
I give up...I've worked on this on and off for the past year. 😞
Thanks anyway, Paul.
Let me know please of any other ideas.

You're very welcome.
Is the wifi card showing up in the device manager, under the Network Adapters device manager category?
Is there a Network Controller device showing up under an Other Devices category in the device manager?
If not, there is a different issue.
Please let me know, and I will offer another suggestion.
