Hi

The wireless download speed for 2.4GHZ is painfully slow. Upload speed is comparable to other older laptops.

e.g. Using google speedtest download is 4Mbps and upload 12Mbps. Switch to 5GHZ and download is at 177Mbps.

I have put this notebook head to head against two others and this one always falls way behind when on 2.4GHZ. e,g, my three year old portable returns 36Mbps on 2.4ghz wifi.

Have done the same thing on different wifi networks and its always the same.

Have downloaded the latest drivers and installed but no change.

Very briefly after installing the windows10 october update the 2.4ghz worked much better but then no other wifi networks showed in the pop up wifi discovery bar(when you click the wifi icon bottom right). So i restarted the notebook and it was back to very slow. Would appreciate any suggestions.

Do you have any USB 3 peripherals plugged into your USB 3 port? If so, unplug them and see if it makes a difference.

I had the same problem and it's caused by interference in the 2.0-5.0GHz range from the USB 3 controller, and since the WiFi radio is unshielded, it disrupts the signal, causing the slow WiFi speeds.

Hi

No no peripherals - tried moving around to see if there was local interference but no improvement.

Thank you for providing the info.
