Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
f your HP ENVY x360 laptop's wireless adapter is disabled and none of the usual troubleshooting steps (uninstalling, reinstalling, updating drivers, rebooting) have worked, try these solutions:
Check if Wi-Fi is Disabled via a Physical Switch or Function Key
Some HP laptops have a Wi-Fi function key (e.g., F12 or Fn + F12) that enables/disables the adapter.
- Press Fn + F12 (or the appropriate key) to toggle Wi-Fi.
- Check if the Wi-Fi light turns blue/white (enabled) or stays orange (disabled).
Enable Wi-Fi in Network Settings
- Go to Control Panel → Network and Internet → Network and Sharing Center.
- Click on Change adapter settings (left panel).
- Look for Wi-Fi adapter. If it’s greyed out, right-click it and select Enable. Enable Wi-Fi in BIOS
- Restart your laptop and press F10 (or Esc > F10) to enter BIOS.
- Look for Advanced > Built-in Devices or Wireless Configuration.
- Ensure Wireless LAN is Enabled.
- Save changes and exit.
Reset Network Settings
- Open Command Prompt as Administrator and run these commands one by one:
- Restart your laptop.
Check Power Management Settings
- Device Manager → Network Adapters → Right-click Wi-Fi adapter → Properties.
- Go to Power Management tab and uncheck “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.”
- Click OK.
Try a Clean Boot
- Open Run (Win + R) → Type msconfig → Press Enter.
- Under Services, check Hide all Microsoft services, then click Disable all.
- Go to Startup tab → Open Task Manager → Disable all startup items.
- Restart your laptop and check if Wi-Fi works.
Check for Windows Updates
Go to Settings → Update & Security → Windows Update → Check for updates.
Run Windows Troubleshooter
- Settings → Update & Security → Troubleshoot → Internet Connections.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
Perform a System Restore
If the issue started recently, restore your system to a previous point:
- Open Run (Win + R) → Type rstrui → Press Enter.
- Select a restore point before the issue started and follow the prompts.
Use a USB Wi-Fi Adapter
If none of the above steps work, the internal Wi-Fi adapter may be faulty. You can try using a USB Wi-Fi dongle as a temporary fix.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
