Hi

The main criteria is whether there are 1 or 2 antennas fitted.

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05985644

WLAN module
Description
Spare part number
Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265 802.11 AC 2x2 WiFi + BT 4.2 Combo Adapter (non-vPro)
901229-855
Realtek RTL8723DE 802.11 bgn 1x1 WiFi + BT 4.2 Combo Adapter
927230-855
Realtek RTL 8188EE 802.11 bgn 1x1 WiFi Adapter
927235-855
Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3168 802.11 ac 1x1 WiFi + BT 4.2 Combo
863934-855

So perhaps read thru the manual and investigate the antenna situation first, then what/which Adapter is allowed in your region.

Thank you so much for the information. I have already done some investigating and mine only has one antenna to the current card. With that being said what are my options if I still want to get a dual band card installed?

Hi

Well you can try and install another antenna, bit dicey, but do-able.

Just fit the antenna to the 5 Ghz stud.

External wifi device.

Now a daft idea, link loop the antenna wire to both studs, it may well work.

Even dafter idea, I would try a short antenna wot I made myself, and tape it around the underside of the case.

If only I could remember what we use to do in the days of CB radio and homemade twigs.
