Hi,
I am running a probook 6560b with Windows 10 pro. I recently installed a wwan card and connected the existing aerials up. I can see the card and fcc Id in the bios menu which the embedded card is enabled. However I can’t see it in the device manager to install a driver. Any advice. Thank you

Hi:
See if this works...
Make a bootable Ubuntu installer from the link below.
https://ubuntu.com/download/desktop
Boot from the installer and select the option to 'Try Ubuntu without installing' option.
See if you can turn the WWAN card on in Ubuntu.
If you can, turn it on, shut down the PC, remove the installer, and when you are back into Windows, the card should be present in the device manager to install the drivers to.
I am assuming you purchased one of the supported WWAN cards listed in the service manual with the HP part number on the device?
That model series has a BIOS whitelist which prevents any unsupported wireless device not listed in the service manual from working.

Thanks Paul,
quick question though. How do you boot from the installer ? The download is showing loads of files on the dvd drive.
The weird module I purchased was the HP 632155 as described in the manual.
thanks jodi

Anytime, Jodi.
I would have thought the WWAN enable setting would be located where the settings to turn on the wifi and bluetooth are.
I have never given this approach to folks that need to turn on th WWAN cards, but I have given it to at least a dozen forum members for turning on the wifi and bluetooth.
If you can't find it, you may want to ask on the Ubuntu forum and see if anyone has any other ideas for you.

Since you got the right part number, and it wasn't rejected by the BIOS, it should be working.
