Hi @Ctaes,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It seems like you're experiencing an issue where a yellow triangle appears in the Computer Management console, likely within the Device Manager, after downloading drivers for an HP laptop. This yellow triangle typically indicates a problem with the device driver, such as it being missing, outdated, or incompatible with the device or operating system.
Here are steps to resolve this issue, specifically for an HP laptop where you've downloaded drivers for components like Realtek or Intel NICs:
Identify the Problematic Device:
- Open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start button and selecting "Device Manager."
- Look for any devices with a yellow triangle. This indicates a problem with the device.
Gather System Information:
- Before downloading any drivers, it's crucial to know exactly what hardware and software are installed on your laptop.
- You can find detailed system information by typing "System Information" in the Windows search bar and opening the System Information app. Here, you can see details about your system, including the specific model of your NIC (Network Interface Card).
Download the Correct Drivers:
- Go to the HP Support website and enter your laptop model. HP provides a list of all available drivers for their models.
- Make sure to download drivers that match your specific hardware. For example, if you have an Intel NIC, download the driver specific to that model. This step is crucial to avoid installing incorrect or incompatible drivers. Click here
Install the Drivers:
- Once you've downloaded the correct driver, double-click the installer and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
Check Device Manager Again:
- After installing the driver, go back to Device Manager to check if the yellow triangle is gone. If it's still there, you might need to try a different driver version or check for additional issues.
Update Windows:
- Sometimes, updating Windows can resolve driver issues as Microsoft regularly releases updates that improve hardware compatibility and performance.
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update, and click "Check for updates."
HP Support Assistant:
- HP laptops often come with HP Support Assistant pre-installed. This tool can automatically check for and install updated drivers specific to your laptop model. click Here
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
