about Sim Card slot in my elitebook 830 g6

I noticed that my elitebook has a sim card slot, how do I use this? I insert a sim card and yet I do not know where to view this.

Your notebook does not have the optional WWAN adapter that is needed to connect to a cellular network.

All the SIM card does is to allow you to use your cellular network provider's network.

In order for the SIM card to work, your notebook would need to have one of the following WWAN adapters that were offered in your notebook's model series listed in the Windows device manager under the Network adapters device manager category:

Intel XMM 7360 LTE-Advanced 
Intel XMM 7560 LTE-Advanced Pro 
Intel XMM 7262 LTE-Advanced

If you don't see any of those WWAN adapters listed, then you can't use your notebook to connect to a cellular network unless you purchase and install one of the above adapters.

Notebooks that came with mobile broadband was a very expensive option.
