HP tech support told me that I should not have installed Bitdefender antivirus appl  while he was troubleshooting my notebook known issue of logging in screen blank, cap three long blink with two short blinks....

I see HP store has only McAfee, though McAfee can have a business deal with HP.  

Which antivirus/security protection can I install to my HP notebook?

yes I know windows 10 comes with Window Defender, since Windows Defender has cons, I like to hear opinions?

As to those blinking codes...

3-2 suggests a BIOS and/or RAM problem.

"HP tech support" which I hope was a Lo-Cost/No-Cost opinion, preferably FOC.

RAM for your PC.  Either get a scan done by Crucial or Kingston or look at HP's info.

but the HP technical support who opened a case for my notebook and HP fixed the cap lock blinking 3 long and 2 short, login issues, says don't install Bitdefender for HP computers.

so Kaspersky is better than norton or Mcafee?
