Hi @MALADY71
Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.
That sounds like a frustrating side effect from what should’ve been a routine update. BIOS updates can sometimes tweak system-level settings that ripple into unexpected places—like how your browser or apps interact with websites.
Here’s what you can try to smooth things out:
🧰 Step 1: Reset network settings
- Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Advanced network settings.
- Click Network reset and follow the prompts.
- Restart your laptop afterward.
🌐 Step 2: Check browser extensions and cache
- Clear your browser cache and cookies.
- Disable any extensions temporarily to see if one is interfering.
- Try accessing the same site from a different browser (like Edge or Chrome) to compare behavior.
🔄 Step 3: Roll back or reflash BIOS (if needed)
- If the issue started immediately after the BIOS update, you might consider rolling back:
- Restart and press Esc, then F10 to enter BIOS Setup.
- Look for an option like Restore Previous BIOS or Rollback BIOS (if available).
- If not, you can reflash the BIOS using a USB recovery method. I can walk you through that if needed.
🧪 Step 4: Run system diagnostics
- Press Esc during startup, then choose System Diagnostics.
- Run the Network Test and Component Tests to check for any hardware issues.
Let me know how far you get with these steps or if you'd like help creating a recovery USB. We’ll get your laptop back to behaving like it should! 💪
