Hi @tommoman

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP device, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.

It sounds like the Bluetooth toggle in your system tray has disappeared, which can be frustrating! Here are some steps to help you get Bluetooth back:

Check Bluetooth Settings:

  • Go to Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices.
  • Ensure that Bluetooth is turned on. If you see a toggle here, turn it on.

Enable Bluetooth via Action Center:

  • Click on the Action Center icon in the bottom right corner of your screen (the speech bubble icon).
  • If you see the Bluetooth tile, click on it to enable Bluetooth. If it’s not there, you may need to click on Expand to see more options.

Restart Bluetooth Services:

  • Press Win + R, type services.msc, and hit Enter.
  • In the Services window, find Bluetooth Support Service. Right-click on it and select Restart. If it’s not running, select Start.

Update Bluetooth Drivers:

  • Right-click on the Start menu and select Device Manager.
  • Expand the Bluetooth section, right-click your Bluetooth adapter, and select Update driver.

Run Windows Troubleshooter:

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters.
  • Select Bluetooth and run the troubleshooter to identify and fix issues.

Check for Windows Updates:

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for any updates. Sometimes, updates can fix bugs that cause features to disappear.

I hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Restart Your Laptop: A simple restart can sometimes resolve minor glitches.

If none of these steps work, let me know, and we can look into more options!

Hello Raj and rhanks,

Unfortunately, I cannot try many of your suggestions, as the Bluetooth icon and all mention of it in any of the trays has disappeared... I have nothing to click on, or enable..... It's SO weird.....

Thanks,

Tom
