I've just bought a HP pavilion g6 notebook pc - product number is: C4M14EA#ABU off a friend, reset to factory settings and I've been setting it up. I was trying to see what Bluetooth devices I can connect to. On the Bluetooth settings page it says to connect to Bluetooth faster click on action centre. but i don't have the icon. When I try to connect to a Bluetooth device it says it cannot connect. I went through to help which says my device doesn't support Bluetooth so I'm confused why I have Bluetooth settings. I'm currently waiting for the update to finish. Can anyone help?

Hi:
The product specs for your notebook indicate that it does not come with built in bluetooth networking, or that feature would have been listed along with the 802.11b/g/n wireless connectivity specification.

Every Windows operating system since XP has bluetooth settings and controls that would work if the PC had the bluetooth hardware to use them with.
You could either upgrade the wifi card to one that has bluetooth as well, or you can purchase an external USB bluetooth adapter.
You should be able to upgrade to one of these two cards.
Dual band N: Max 300 MBPS on the 5.0 GHz wifi band.
Broadcom BCM943228HMB 802.11abgn 2×2 Wi-Fi Adapter, Broadcom Bluetooth 4.0 Adapter HP part # 730668-001
Dual band AC: Max 867 MBPS on the 5.0 GHz wifi band.
Below is the link to the service manual, where you can find the wifi card removal and replacement procedure.

Here are the latest W10 drivers that HP has for either of those cards.
WiFi: 7.35.351.0 Windows will install 7.35.352.0 afterward.

Broadcom BCM4352 802.11ac 2x2 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.0 combo HP part # 724935-001
You should be able to find the above 2 wifi cards on eBay. Search by the HP part number, not the model of the wifi card.
