Hi @Mike7471,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand how frustrating it is when your HP PC asks for a PIN for your Bluetooth keyboard, and doesn’t show one! Let's get this resolved so you can type smoothly without the extra hassle.

Steps to Connect Your Bluetooth Keyboard (HP Recommended)

1. Power & Readiness Check

  • Ensure your keyboard is turned on and has fresh batteries.
  • On your PC, go to Settings → Bluetooth & devices, and confirm Bluetooth is ON.

2. Add via Devices & Printers (The Control Panel Method)

This method is especially helpful when Windows doesn’t show a PIN directly:

  1. In Settings → Bluetooth & devices, scroll to Related settings and click on More devices and printer settings.
  2. Click Add a device (top-left corner).
  3. Select your Bluetooth keyboard from the list.
  4. If the PC asks for a passcode but doesn’t display one:
    • Look for a prompt like “Or, try entering a passcode on it”.
    • At that moment, type any four-digit PIN on the keyboard (e.g., 1234 or 0000) and press Enter.
    • Then type the same PIN on your PC and press OK.

3. Use the Device Pairing Wizard

If the above doesn’t help:

  1. Press Win + R, type devicepairingwizard, and press Enter.
  2. Select your keyboard when it appears.
  3. The wizard should generate a temporary passcode, quickly type it on your keyboard, and press Enter on both the keyboard and the PC.

4. Run the Bluetooth Troubleshooter

  • Go to Settings → System → Troubleshoot → Other troubleshooters.
  • Find Bluetooth, click Run, and follow the suggestions.
  • Once complete, retry pairing.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
