Hello, I have an :
HP 15-f111dx Notebook PC, running Windows 10 ( 64 bit ).
It has an AMD A-8 6410 APU with AMD Radeon R5 Graphics 2.00 GHz.
Installed RAM is 16. GB ( 14.9 GB useable ).
It currently had a RealTek RTL8188EE 802.11 bgn Wi-Fi adapter, that can stock with the laptop, I believe that it is 1 x 1.
I upgraded the Hard Drive to a 1 TB Samsung V-NAND SSD 860 EVO. I also recently upgraded my AT&T Gateway to the best service available in my area, it now supports dual channel connection, and both 2 and 5 GHz.
My question is, can I upgrade this laptops WIFI adapter to increase connectivity ? If so what adapter would that be?
I have read some very insightful and helpful articles posted about other HP 15 Laptops being able to do so, but was unsure if those solutions that worked would do so with my particular Laptop . I am trying to extend the lifespan and maximize its usefullness. I have been told that my ability to access the best service my Internet Provider can deliver in my area is curtailed by my current WIFI Adapter. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so very much .

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.
I see you need help in upgrading the SSD, on HP Notebook - 15-f111dx. Don't worry as I have a few suggestions which should help you.
After reading your post, I did go through the Product specifications of your product and found that you have 1x1 802.11b/g/n WLAN drive installed on the PC.
WLAN module and Part number:
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Thank you for your response. The information that you supplied was greatly appreciated. Thankfully my current factory installed wifi adapter still works, it is simply slow. I was unsure if the amazing list of potential replacements that you were kind enough to share were ones that would enable me to switch to 5GHz from my current 2.4 GHz connection.
My question regarding upgrading my WiFi adapter was whether or not it was possible to aqquire and install a new WiFi Adapter and or Card ? A solution that would enable me to access and take advantage of the 5GHz capability of my Internet connection instead of its current status of running on 2.4 GHz. My AT&T Gateway supports 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz network capability and is Dual-Band Compatible.
Hp 15-f111dx Notebook PC running Windows 10 ( 64 Bit ).
Currently has :
Network Card : 10/100BASE-T Ethernet LAN (RJ-45 connector)
Wireless Connectivity : 1x1 802.11b/g/n WLAN
My linited understanding of these issues leads me to understand I need to upgrade my Network Card and WiFi Addapter, if possible, unless this means installing a second antenna, which I cannot do. I have also read about USB wireless WiFi adapters, but would prefer to upgrade the laptop itself, rather than deal with a USB solution, if possible.
Again, than you for any and all assistance with this issue.

Thank you for posting back.
I would say that's a great idea, Upgrading the computer let you experience the performance increase, which makes the overall computer run faster and more smoothly. Capacity increase. For example, adding a larger hard drive allows the computer to store more information.

The Wireless adapter and Network card are the same. You can purchase a new wireless card and upgrade the wireless hardware.
This computer shipped with 1x1 802.11b/g/n WLAN, The most cards contains "b" and they will all support 2.4G band. You can shop around for 802.11a/ac wireless 1x1 card as an upgrade.
NOTE: HP does not recommend upgrading or downgrading hardware parts or software that is bundled with the product as It may affect the manufacturer's warranty and performance, however, you could change the configuration at your own discretion.
