HP Envy 6132e All-in-One Printer

All I wanted to do was get back to my hp printer printing both sides but apparently after researching on google and no help from hp - why do HP make it so difficult to resolve problems?  the reason it is doing this is because it is using airprint and after trying everything i can not remove airprint so i am left with printing large documents one page at a time - does anyone have a simplified answer to sort this and why when only a few days ago i used to be able to print both sides has it changed so when i print there is not an option anymore to click a check box to make it print both sides. ive also tried downloading the hp driver for my printer but my mac wont let me do that either  -   is it best to give up and accept the way it is?

Hi @Annie20141, thanks for posting. When the printer is added as a generic "AirPrint"/IPP printer, the two-sided option can disappear. Here's how to get it back:

  1. Windows: install the HP full feature driver (or the HP app) for your model from support.hp.com > Software and Drivers, then print from the new HP printer entry: Printing preferences > Print on Both Sides.
  2. To stop Windows from re-adding the generic printer: Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center > Change advanced sharing settings > uncheck "Set up network connected devices automatically", then remove the extra printer in Settings > Printers & scanners.
  3. Mac: AirPrint does support duplex. In the print dialog click Show Details and tick Two-Sided (Long-Edge binding).

Please share your printer model and whether you use Windows or Mac, so we can give exact steps. Keep me posted!
