Does your computer have the required WWAN Broadband module installed in the computer?

Lots of computers come with a place to plug in a SIM card.

Not all computers have the necessary hardware (WWAN module) to drive the SIM card and it's subscribed network carrier.

If the Broadband mobile module is installed in the computer,

Use the Device Manager to find / display information about an installed WWAN module.

Example –  Device Manager

Control Panel > icon view > Device Manager

Tab View 

Select View by action types

Check Show hidden devices

Select Drivers by type

Expand section Network Adapters

Find LT / LTE / Mobile  in list

    NOTE >> names vary and might be different from the example...

Right-Click on the module > Properties

Use Settings > Network & internet to display information about an installed SIM card.

The SIM card, when connected to an active mobile account, works with the WWAN hardware module to connect your computer to your mobile network carrier.

If you need a driver for the installed WWAN module,

Open category Software and Drivers >  Software and drivers for HP EliteBook 840 G3 Notebook PC 

Select Operating System = Windows

Select Operating System version = Windows 10 (or your OS / version)

Open All Drivers

Open All
