Hi @Vinoski1,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Chromebook is showing that it's connected to the internet but you're unable to access the network, there could be a few reasons for this issue. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the problem.
- Restart your Chromebook: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues. Turn off your Chromebook completely, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it back on.
- Check your Wi-Fi network: Ensure that your Wi-Fi network is functioning properly and that other devices can connect to it without any issues. If other devices are having trouble as well, there might be a problem with your router or internet connection.
- Forget and reconnect to the network: Go to your Chromebook's Wi-Fi settings, forget the network you're trying to connect to, and then reconnect to it. This can sometimes resolve authentication issues.
- Update your Chromebook: Make sure that your Chromebook is running the latest version of Chrome OS. Updates can sometimes fix bugs and improve connectivity.
- Reset network settings: You can reset your Chromebook's network settings to their default configuration. To do this, go to Settings > Network > Wi-Fi. Click on the network you're connected to, then click "Forget". After that, reconnect to the network and see if the issue is resolved.
- Check for interference: Make sure there are no physical obstructions or other devices interfering with your Wi-Fi signal. Try moving closer to your router or connecting to a different Wi-Fi network to see if the problem persists.
- Factory reset: As a last resort, you can perform a factory reset on your Chromebook. Keep in mind that this will erase all data on your device, so make sure to back up any important files before proceeding.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
