HP pavilion 550-187no
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, I have a HP pavilion 550-187no desktop computer. I have two wireless bands at home, one 2G and the other 5G. My computer connects fine to the 2G network but not the 5G. I've seen this topic come up on the forum and tried to fix the issue but I couldn't solve it with the advice I saw. Would anyone have a recommendation on how to solve this? Thank you

Hi:

Below is the link to the product specs page for your PC.

https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-pavilion-550-100-desktop-pc-series/8499648/model/10753712/do...

It only comes with a single band (2.4 GHz) wifi card.

Anytime you see a wireless N card decription that ends in b/g/n, that means it is a single band wifi adapter.

Dual band wifi adapters have descriptions that end in a/b/g/n, or a/g/n.

If you want dual band networking capability, the easiest and least expensive thing to do would be to purchase an external usb dual band wifi adapter.
