google and gmail are the only pages working on my laptop.
Wifi says it's connected but when doing a network check I get the error 999.
Restarted laptop, rebooted modem with no results.
Spoke to internet provider and all is in good order.
My other laptop in the house connects fine.
What can I do to resolve this issue please?
Many thanks

Thanks for the clarification of your problem.
Is this a "fresh" install of Microsoft Windows, or has this problem only recently appeared?
Is your anti-virus software working correctly, and updating daily?
Run a "full" scan, to see if something is affecting your computer.
Are you using some "Internet Security" software package (combination of web-filters, anti-virus, and firewall) that could be blocking some web-sites?
Have you configured "Parental Controls" ?
Have you configured your router to block connections?
Open a command-line prompt, and enter: TRACERT WWW.GOOGLE.COM
and press ENTER. Show us the output from this "trace-route" command.
If you start "Internet Explorer (No Add-ons)", can you access any other web-sites?

So, your combo-modem-router-with-built-in-wireless, or your own wireless-capable-router, are working fine.

Good.

Your web-browser can access the Google home-page, and the GMail home-page.
Can it access other web-sites, e.g., 'www.hotmail.com' or 'www.yahoo.com' or 'www.ibm.com' ?
What's the problem? Details, please.

Hi,
thanks for your reply.
everything you stated is correct, I'm not sure what other details to give you.
The problem is as I stated, every single page that is not google/gmail does not load as it cannot connect to the internet.
But the Internet connection is fine as my other devices work
Thanks for your help

The screen-shot was not attached.
Instead, from a command-line prompt, enter: tracert support.hp.com > saddam1-traceroute-details.txt
Then, open the file "saddam1-traceroute-details.txt" and copy-and-paste it into this forum.
