Hi @Mindy42,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP DeskJet 2723e cannot stay connected to Wi-Fi while your iMac is connected, and you see a message saying “HP wireless radio is off.” Let’s go through some steps to get your printer back online.

Check the printer wireless status
On the printer, press the Wireless button or go to the control panel and confirm the wireless icon is on.
If it shows off, press the button to turn the wireless radio back on.

Power cycle printer and router
Turn off the printer and unplug the Wi-Fi router for 30–60 seconds.
Plug the router back in, turn on the printer, and allow both to reconnect.

Forget and reconnect Wi-Fi on the printer
Use the Wireless Setup Wizard on the printer to disconnect from the current network and reconnect.
Enter the correct Wi-Fi password carefully.

Make sure the iMac is not blocking connections
Check System Preferences > Network on the Mac to ensure the printer is allowed on the network.
Temporarily disable any VPNs or firewall software that might prevent the printer from connecting.

Use the HP Smart app for setup
Install the HP Smart app on your iMac and follow the guided steps to reconnect the printer to Wi-Fi.
This often resolves issues where the printer seems to disconnect when the computer is online.

Verify wireless isolation on the router
Some routers have a setting called AP Isolation or Guest Mode that prevents devices from seeing each other on Wi-Fi.
Make sure this setting is disabled so the Mac and printer can communicate.

Confirm firmware is updated
Check the HP Smart app for any printer firmware updates and install them.
Firmware updates fix known wireless connectivity issues.

I hope this helps.
