Since I used the HP Support Assistant to update a few drivers I have been unable to access ANY wifi, either at work or at home.

I have tried reinstalling and rolling back wifi drivers for the Intel AC-7265 however the result is always the same: Limited Access and no connection.

Not sure what else to check, other than maybe Dell 😃

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Hi garthoid,

You should keep all drivers current on your system.  Be sure to go out on the HP.COM site and see if there are other drivers needing to be updated.

Check the following steps in this document to see if it resolves your issue:  http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02543015

If you still have issues, let us know.

Hi Garthoid,

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues with help from the community!

To resolve this issue, disable U-APSD support in Device Manager. Refer to the following steps:

Check the Intel Wireless Module's driver version using the procedure below.

  1. Open Device Manager.
  2. Expand Network adapters.
  3. Double-click Intel Dual Band Wireless 7260.
  4. Click the Driver tab and look at the driver version.

If the driver is earlier than v17.0.2, contact HP for further assistance.

If the driver is v17.0.2 or later, complete to the procedure below:

  1. Click the Advanced tab.
  2. Scroll down the Properties menu to find U-APSD support.
  3. Change the U-APSD support value from Enabled to Disabled.
  4. Click OK.

Thank you,

TD

New data point.

If I boot my laptop without an ethernet connection the wireless connects.

If I boot with with an ethernet connection wireless cannot connect.

ideas?

Garthoid,

So it sounds like if you connect with LAN/Eithernet attached your wireless does not work.  But if you connect without you can connect, is that correct? If so the Eithernet connection could be disabling your wireless.

You can go into BIOS and change settings for the wirless to stay connected when connected via eithernet: (steps below are for Win 7)

  1. Go into the BIOS, advanced menu, device configuration sub menu

  2. Disable the LAN-WLAN switching setting.

  3. Save the setting where you made the change by pressing the F10 key and again when you exit (save settings and exit).

If you continue to have issues i recommend calling into support for further assistance.

Thank you,

Hi,

Thanks for the post.

This value was already disabled in bios.

I enabled it, then disabled it, saved, then booted.

No change.
