I have a Pavilion Desktop model HP500-A60. I just switched over to Time Warner Cable since they were offering up to 200mbps internet speeds. There module is connected to my computer with an ethernet cable and it has a wireless wifi to my television set. I took a speetest and it shows I am receiving only 9.58mbps out of my internet computer connection. Their tech dept told me maybe I need a new ethernet card. I had a computer service run a diagnostic test and they attached a wireless adapter to my computers' motherboard, At least then I received around 48-49mbps for two days....then it went to 30's and then 20's and now I am only receiving 9,58 download speed for the past 4 days. I ran the speedtest a number of hours between 8am and 11pm with the same results. Now I dont know what to do. Can anyone shed some light to my problem and advise me what can I do next? Please help me if you can. Many Thanks.
Norman

Hi,
Your machine LAN card is
- Technology: Realtek RTL8106E-CG
- Data transfer speeds: up to 10/100 Mb/s
- Transmission standards: 10-Base-T Ethernet
I think it is soldered to the motherboard. And your machine has no spare slot to add a faster card
Regards.
