Product: Victus by HP 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop 15-fb0000 (598V1AV)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11
I have recently bought a ethernet adapter that connects to the type-C port on my laptop, since then, it shows that it is connected; however, it is not, and I am not sure how I can get the etherenet adapter to connect.

What is your HP 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop 15-fb0000 (598V1AV). Why you have to make that hard when the USB-C port on your machine is in limbo ? You can use USB-A adapter which always works (100%):
I'm using the following adapter and I've got 2 more USB ports
