@diksha21, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Experiencing frequent Wi-Fi disconnections can be frustrating and may often indicate hardware or configuration issues. Here are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve Wi-Fi connection problems on your HP laptop:

Restart Your Laptop and Router:

  • Restart your laptop and your Wi-Fi router to refresh their connections.

Update Wi-Fi Drivers:

  • Ensure that your Wi-Fi drivers are up to date. You can update drivers via Device Manager or by visiting the HP Support website.
  • Open Device Manager (Win + X and select Device Manager).
  • Expand the "Network adapters" section.
  • Right-click on your Wi-Fi adapter and select "Update driver."
  • Follow the prompts to update the driver.

Check Power Management Settings:

  • Sometimes, power management settings can cause intermittent Wi-Fi disconnections. Ensure that your Wi-Fi adapter is set to maximum performance.
  • Open Device Manager.
  • Expand the "Network adapters" section.
  • Right-click on your Wi-Fi adapter and select "Properties".
  • Go to the "Power Management" tab.
  • Uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".

Reinstall Network Adapter:

  • Reinstalling the network adapter can resolve connectivity issues.
  • Open Device Manager.
  • Expand the "Network adapters" section.
  • Right-click on your Wi-Fi adapter and select "Uninstall device."
  • Restart your laptop, which will reinstall the driver automatically.

Run Network Troubleshooter:

  • Use Windows built-in troubleshooter to diagnose and fix network issues.
  • Type "Troubleshoot settings" in the Windows search bar and select it.
  • Click "Internet Connections" and then "Run the troubleshooter."
  • Follow the prompts to identify and fix issues.

Make sure Windows is up to date as well.
