sim card is not working on my laptop

Hi:

Every HP EliteBook 840 G1 notebook has a SIM card slot.

What 90% of them don't come with is the optional and expensive WWAN adapter that is needed to connect to the cellular network.

The SIM card just authorizes you to use your carrier's cellular service.

In order for mobile broadband to work your notebook must have one of these model WWAN adapters present in the device manager under the Network Adapters device manager category, and I will bet that you will not find any of these WWAN adapters listed.
