Hi:

There is no whitelist but almost as bad is there may only be one antenna cable present and connected to the single band wifi card you have in there now.

If there are two antenna cables, you can upgrade to this card...

Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 802.11 ac 2x2 WiFi + BT 4.0      HP Part # 710661-001

The card is readily available on eBay or Amazon.

Search by the HP part number, not by the model number of the wireless card.

If there is only one antenna, you won't be able to upgrade to a dual band card unless you are willing to have no Bluetooth.

With one antenna cable, the Intel 3160 AC card should work without Bluetooth.

Connect the antenna cable to the wifi card's main terminal.

Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160 802.11 ac 1×1 WiFi + Bluetooth 4.0 Combo Adapter    HP part #  710662-001

Here is the link to the service manual where you can find the wifi card removal and replacement procedure.

Physically open the notebook to check the antenna cable count.

Do not rely on the illustration in the manual which shows two antenna cables.
