Does the HP x3000 wireless mouse have an automatic shut off feature after a period of inactivity? Must I manually turn the switch to the off position when I am not using it to achieve the advertised 12 month battery life?

Welcome to HP Support Community
If you are not using the Mouse for a long time, you need to switch it off manually because will not go off automatically

I have another question. Is it common for the mouse to move hesitantly or jerky especially in the facebook game sites? Sometime the mouse moves on its own from where I last put it to another location on the page, usually in a corner or at the top or bottom of the page. I have check my device settings for the mouse and made sure the option for the mouse to snap to a default box is unchecked. I am not happy with the performance of this mouse with regard to the movement. It was purchased new from amazon and delivered on Mar 14. I began using it when my new laptop was set up on Mar 16.

Does the issue occur only when playing Facebook games?
If that is the case, then it could be an issue with the Adobe Flash Player or the Browser. You can try using a different Browser and check.
Also download the latest Adobe Flash Player

While the issue is not exclusive to the Facebook Games it happens much more frequently with them. I did make sure that I have an up to date versions of Adobe Flash Player. I always use the Google Chrome Browser. I have never had probems with the performance of my previous wireless mouse. The only reason I replaced it is because the battery life was so short--only a couple of months.

I will try it but I have to tell you if it turns out this mouse doesn't work well with Google Chrome I will not be a happy camper and I will be using a different mouse because that is the browser I prefer to use.
