Hellow
I just got a budget laptop hp 15 ac106nq, on which i am unable to install the lan driver, i have tried for the last 3 day only trying to resolve this problem, if i understood well using aida64, this laptop comes with a Realtek RTL8139/810x Fast Ethernet Adapter. I tried and managed to download ditectly from the manufaturer, i am mentioning that the windows is a fresh install, even tried installing the driver using HP assistant, totaly waste of time. I am starting to get desperate, being that the laptop has 2 days since i unboxed it. I made a bootable usb drive with linux, ubuntu, to be more exact, and internet works fine, while using the cable, so no confusion is made.
What shoul i do next. 😞

OK, so you do need the ethernet controller driver.
On windows 7 you should be able to use the drivers and software from the 15t-ac000, except the BIOS and firmware files for any drivers not listed on the support page for your notebook.

This would be the ethernet driver you need...
This package provides the Realtek Local Area Network (LAN) Driver that enables the Realtek Network Interface Card (NIC) Chip in supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system.

Hi:
Are you saying you need the driver for the wireless network adapter?
I ask that because all you are referring to is the wired Realtek ethernet adapter (LAN), which you say is working fine.
If you do need the W7 x64 driver for the wireless network adapter (WLAN), please post the hardware ID for the device you see labeled in the device manager as a Network Controller.
To find the hardware ID, click on the device labeled Network Controller.
Then click on the Details tab at the top of the Network Controller window.
Now you will see a Property drop down list and it will be set to Device Description.
Drop down on that list and select the 2nd item (Hardware ID's).
Post the top string of characters that you see in the window.

Hellow
Fist of all, i want to say that this is the first time i open a new thread, and my english is not that good.
While in W7, only whe wireless is working network is working.
When i go to device manager->other devices->Ether net controller (the driver is missing) even when i am pluggig the cable it does nothing, when i go to properties->details tab-> device descriston(what appears automaticly i saw) as a result at value it olly says that it is "Ethernet Controller" nothing more.
While in ubuntu, it autamaticly uses some generic drivers or something like that and the internet with the lan cable in the port works just fine.
No mather where i install the driver from it does not work, the ethernet controller is still missing its driver, i don't know what to do.
P.S. wireless on this laptop is so slow, and believe i have fiber optic installed and good router.
Have a good day.
