I already gave it to you in my first reply.

And I already replied back that it didn't work when I tried to run it from the USB flash drive.
I got an error message saying "error, not a valid Win 32 app". I also moved the file to the HD it self. And I got the same error message.

Install the free 7-zip software.

Download and copy to a USB flash drive.

https://www.7-zip.org/

Copy the Atheros wifi driver to your notebook if you need to do it again.

Right click on the sp70859 exe file and select 7-Zip from the list of options.

Have 7-Zip Extract to:  and let it extract the file into its folder name (sp70859).

Once that is done, Go to the device manager, click on the Network Controller device needing the driver.

Click on the driver tab. Click on Update Driver.

Select the Browse my computer for driver software option, and browse to the driver folder that 7-zip created.

Make sure the Include subfolders box is checked, and see if the driver installs that way.

If not try this older Atheros W7 32 bit wifi driver...

I found out the problem. There is something wrong with the original link   https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp70501-71000/sp70859.exe    I tried downloading the original link 3 times and the download failed 2 times.

That isn't the problem.

It downloaded just fine for me on the first try.

I even ran the exe file and canceled out of the installation.

Try the older driver which should also work.

If you get the same issue, I will zip the first file, upload it to my Skydrive folder, share the link with you and you can download it from there.

I think the problem is on my end. I am on my aux ISP, which is the mobile wi-fi hotspot in my cell phone. Spectrum is been stupid again. They cut my services again (tv, house phone and internet) because I am behind on the bill. Because I hit a shopping cart on the frwy 2 months ago. Having the car is a bit more important, for getting groceries, medical appointments and so on . As appose to tv, house phone and internet. I will have the services back up and running on Jan 3rd when I get my SSDI direct deposit. I will try the doundload again after Spectrum is back up and running. The bandwith on the mobile wi-fi hotspot isn't as good as the ISP from Spectrum. I don't do anything like watching a Youtube video on the aux ISP.

OK.

Let me know if you need any additional assistance after you get reconnected with Spectrum.

The primary ISP via Spectrum is finely backup. There was a delay in getting service back because a drunk mowed down the cable tv junction box in the parking lot. It is very easy to drive over this junction box. It has no protection. Now I can download the files.

replyed back with:

OK.

Let me know if you need any additional assistance after you get reconnected with Spectrum.

The WI-FI on the HP laptop is up and running at full speed.  Do you know where I can find the display driver?
