Ok, so let me start, Bought this product few months ago, updated all the drivers from your website. It wasn't long I started facing DistributedCOM (aka problem No. 2)... I tried to fix that but no luck i gave up. This problem is a hedic, because of it i guess whenever i openup some websites it takes alot of time. I have to refresh the page. I got to knew about this by looking into event viwer.. SO tell me how can i fix this
Now lets talk about Problem No. 1, Its my Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 3168 which is giving so much pain to me. I was not literlly expecting this on a new product ( bought it 4-6 months ago) MY adapter keeps getting reset, when ever i observe event viwer, so many problems are being reported there related to wireless adapter such as wireless adapter has been resetted, wireless module stopped, wireless adapter is not working properly it had to be resetted.. Some like these.. Well I tried my best to fix it. if i am saying i tried my best it means i uninstalled it, uninstalled the driver from the system, i reinstalled the whole software, i search the whole internet and did my best.. Although it did kinda work but today when i opened up the event viwer it made me feel so bad. Whyyy thi is happening is there something problem in wireless adapter or there could be a fix which could be release by your team. Please help me

Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂
I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers.
As I understand you have an issue with the wireless internet and the DistributedCOM error,
No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:
Are you able to use the wireless adapter or is it not working anymore?
Did you know that the event viewer keeps a log of every system change the occurs and most of it doesn't really matter?
That said, I recommend you follow the below steps to address the "DistributedCOM" error:
1. Open Regedit
2. Go to HKEY_Classes_Root\CLSID\{C2F03A33-21F5-47FA-B4BB-156362A2F239}
3. Right click on it then select permissions
4. Click Advance and change the owner to Administrators group.
Also, click the box that will appear below the owner line. ("Replace owner ...")
5. Apply full control
6. Go to HKEY_LocalMachine\Software\Classes\AppID\{316CDED5-E4AE-4B15-9113-7055D84DCC97}
7. Right click on it then select permission
8. Click Advance and change the owner to Administrators group
9. Click the box that will appear below the owner line
10. Click Apply and grant full control to the Administrators group
11. Go to Administrative tools
12. Open component services
13. Click Computer, click my computer, then click DCOM
14. Look for the corresponding service that appears on the error viewer [Immersive Shell]
15. Right click on it then click properties
16. Click security tab then click Add User. Add Local Service then apply
17. Tick the Activate local box
This should resolve the issue,
And for the wireless network issue - The best way to do that is using the HP Guided Troubleshooter:
Click here to access it (simply select your description of the issue from the bottom of the screen to gain access to the next set of steps that should resolve your concern).
Let me know if those steps worked for you,
If they did, that's awesome!
Give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,
That'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
Good Luck

Now this makes 4 issues...
07-19-2017 10:29 AM
Thank you for replying with this detailed response 😉
I appreciate your time and efforts,
The honor is mine, to help you out, let's deal with these issues one after the other as described,
Issue 1:
Try running the following two commands:
- Open cmd.exe with Run as Administrator.
- DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /Restorehealth (takes 15 - 20 minutes)
- Then, still in cmd.exe SFC /SCANNOW.
If the issue persists,
- Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\CldFlt and change where it says Start from the default value of 2 change it to 4
Issue 2:
WUDFRd is a service and it is called Windows Driver Foundation. Try this:
- Click on the start button and type: services.msc in the search box and then the Enter Key
- This should open a list of services.
- Find the Windows Driver Foundation on the list.
- Right click and go to the properties for the start up type and set it to automatic.
- Exit and reboot. This should resolve the issue.
- After you restart your computer you should not see this error again.
Issue 3 & 4:
Update to the latest BIOS by Clicking here (HP website for software and downloads)
Then, Open Power Options.
- Then click “Change plan settings” for the active (selected) plan.
- Select the “Change advanced power settings” option.
- When Power Options appear on your screen, make the following adjustments:
- Set the Power Plan to High Performance.
- Expand the Processor Power Management settings and change BOTH the Minimum and Maximum Processor State settings to 100%.
This should fix the issue, however, for the BSOD I recommend you capture the STOP ERROR or the xxxxx.sys error to identify the exact cause of the issue.
Let me know how that pans out
I hope you have a good day ahead,
And Feel free to ask any other queries as well,
Considering, this forum has some of the best people in the world available and ready to help.
