Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
I’m sorry you’re dealing with this—it’s frustrating when Wi-Fi suddenly disappears from the taskbar.
Here are some steps to troubleshoot:
1. Restart Your Laptop
- Turn off your laptop and unplug the power adapter.
- Wait 30 seconds, then turn it back on.
2. Check Airplane Mode
- Press Win + A to open Quick Settings.
- Ensure Airplane Mode is turned off.
3. Enable Wi-Fi in Settings
- Open Settings → Network & Internet → Wi-Fi.
- Ensure Wi-Fi is turned on and connected to a network.
4. Run Windows Troubleshooter
- Open Settings → System → Troubleshoot → Other Troubleshooters.
- Select Network Adapter and click Run.
5. Update Wi-Fi Drivers
- Open Device Manager (Win + X → Device Manager).
- Expand Network Adapters.
- Right-click your Wi-Fi adapter and select Update driver.
6. Reset Network Settings
- Open Settings → Network & Internet → Advanced network settings.
- Click Network reset and restart your laptop.
