HP 15.6 inch Laptop PC 15-d3000 (2N8Y0AV)

Hi everyone,

Can I get some help? My laptop is HP 15-dy3008ca, which runs Windows 11. I have trouble installing a network adapter driver.

First, I came across this problem “Hard disk 3F0 boot device not found error”. I have a desktop computer. So I watched some Youtube videos and learned how to fix it. That didn’t help me solve the network adapter issue. So I reset my laptop to the factory settings.

Please note that I never created a recovery usb drive or set a restore point for my computer.

When I set up Windows 11, it asked me to install a network adapter driver. For some reason, my laptop didn’t detect a WiFi signal. So I watched Youtube again and learned how to bypass this without internet access. I simply typed oobe\bypassnro on the command prompt.

Next, on my desktop computer, I went to this HP website, navigated to Driver-Network and downloaded all the wireless LAN drivers (Realtek, intel and MediaTek) to my usb.

Because my laptop CPU is Intel, I went to its website and downloaded Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 3168 to my usb as well.

Next, I tried installing each of those wireless LAN drivers and the intel driver to my laptop. After all this trial and error, I failed to fix the problem. My laptop still cannot detect any WiFi network.

I have uploaded images of my laptop specifications and Device Manager to this post.

Can someone please help me fix this problem? Thank you very much for your time.

Hi:

According to the parts list for your PC, it comes with a RTL8852AE Wi-Fi adapter.

HP PartSurfer

Below is the link to the latest Wi-Fi driver HP has for that model Wi-Fi adapter:

sp172538.exe

I see from your screenshot that your PC is missing quite a lot of drivers.

HP has a utility available to make a bootable USB recovery drive that will install the original HP factory software image on your PC, rather than having to clean install Windows and install all of the drivers afterward.

Here is an info link for how to use the utility:

HP Consumer PCs - Using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool in Windows | HP® Support

If the Wi-Fi driver I posted doesn't work, you can use another PC to create the recovery media with.

If you do that, you have to enter your PC's product number in the tool's search window in order to proceed.

Your PC's product number is 2L7R2UA#ABL
