I have an HP Pavilion and purchased a new Epson Sure Color P700 wireless printer. I have had it for a week. and worked for three hours with support because I couldn't get a good printing. After changing some things which I cannot tell you exactly what they were he decided that it was my computer. We found a spot that said it was at 5 ghz. he said the printer is at 2.4 and the computer would have to be changed. I went into the device manager and wound my way down to Preferred Band. I changed it to 2.4 because it said I had duo connection. I still cannot connect to my computer. I have the internet, and the printer has it too but they cannot connect to each other. Yes, I have rebooted both my computer and router. I have windows 11 and my husband has windows 10 and we downloaded the software onto his computer, and it worked great. I sure hope someone can help me with this problem.

Update Your Wi-Fi Driver
- Outdated or corrupted drivers can interfere with your computer's connection to your printer.
- In Device Manager, expand Network adapters, right-click your Wi-Fi adapter, and select Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for updated driver software to check for any available updates.
- After updating, restart your computer.
Check Your Firewall/Antivirus Settings
Sometimes, a firewall or antivirus software can block communication between your computer and the printer.
- Temporarily disable your firewall or antivirus software and see if the printer can connect.
- If disabling it solves the issue, add an exception for your printer or create rules to allow its communication over the network.
Use the Epson Printer Utility to Connect
Epson printers often come with a utility to help manage wireless setups.
- Download the latest version of the Epson Connect Printer Setup Utility from Epson’s website.
Reset the Printer's Network Settings
If all else fails, resetting the printer’s network settings can sometimes help.
- Refer to the Epson SureColor P700 manual for instructions on how to reset the network settings.
- After resetting, reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network using the Epson setup wizard.
Check for Windows 11-Specific Issues
Since you're using Windows 11, it might be worth checking if there are any known issues between Windows 11 and your printer model. You can search the Epson website or Microsoft support for any known compatibility updates or drivers.
Check Router Settings
If everything on your computer and printer seems to be configured correctly, it could be an issue with your router:
- Verify that SSID broadcasting is enabled (this is usually enabled by default).
- Ensure that the router’s MAC address filtering is not blocking the printer or your computer.
- Try restarting the router again and check if the connection improves.
I hope these steps help resolve the issue

Hi @hurryupnow,
Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
Confirm Printer's Network Connection
- Make sure the Epson SureColor P700 is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer (both the 2.4 GHz band).
Check Your Computer's Network Connection
- Open Network & Internet Settings (Settings > Network & Internet) to ensure your computer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network (the same one your printer is on).
- Verify that you are connected to the 2.4 GHz network, and not the 5 GHz network. You may need to check if your router supports simultaneous dual-band and confirm that both networks are active.
Reconfigure the Preferred Band (If Needed)
Since you mentioned that you changed the Preferred Band setting to 2.4 GHz:
- Open Device Manager on your HP Pavilion.
- Under Network adapters, right-click on your Wi-Fi adapter and select Properties.
- Go to the Advanced tab and look for a setting called Preferred Band (or Wireless Mode).
- Ensure that it’s set to 2.4 GHz. If you're unsure, you can also try setting it to Auto to allow it to pick the best connection automatically.
Forget and Reconnect to the Printer
Sometimes, your computer may have stored a bad connection. Here's how to forget and reconnect:
- Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
- If the printer is listed, select it and click Remove Device.
- Restart your computer.
- Add the printer back by clicking Add a printer or scanner and following the on-screen prompts.

Wow Garp, those were all great things to do to help. I had four support sessions with Epson and after ordering a new USB cord. I needed a USB 3.0 cable super speed, A-B no longer than 6 feet. We got the connection right. I am just keeping it connected with the cord but could go wireless if needed. It makes a beautiful print. I am not sure exactly what we changed as they support people move fast and there is a bit of a communication problem. Thank you for taking the time to answer.

Hi @hurryupnow,
It sounds like you're on the right track with the new USB 3.0 cable! 🎉
It's great to hear your printer's printing beautifully now, and hey, sometimes those support folks work so fast, it’s hard to catch exactly what changed. 😅 But the important thing is, it’s working!

Glad to have been able to help! 🙌
