HP Pavilion Laptop PC 15-eg2000 (4U8D7AV)

My Pavillion Laptop PC 15-eg2000 has no internet connection anymore. When I try testing, the message reads "You're connected to a virtual network adapter that we can't test." I've tried every solution I've found and nothing works. I've even tried downloading Realtek drivers for this model onto a different computer, then copying them to an external hard drive, then opening and installing them from that, and they don't even show up in device manager/network adapters. I'm out of ideas of how to proceed. Help!

Same issue for me. Laptop (HP Pavillion) worked fine last night. this morning, no internet connection, no internet app under system settings, no way to search for networks and trouble shooter said I was using a virtual network adaptor’. There are many many people online who have been having this problem, it appears.

in my device manager, two network adaptors appear with yellow warning signs, both Realtek Family (or similar). I’ve tried using the older drivers but none works - each returns the same error code 10 (cannot start). I’ve restarted multiple times, tried hard restarts, tried resetting the network. Other methods I’ve read about were reported as not working either (factory settings and uninstalling all network adaptors and then restarting, downloading new drivers into a new computer and then installing them via usb drive), so I’m now very concerned that my laptop is basically an expensive brick.

is this a Windows 11 problem with a solution? Do I need to replace any hardware? Do I need a new laptop?
