Hi @fcmurphy2010,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I understand how it must be to suddenly lose your internet connection, especially when it no longer appears in your settings.

In the meantime, here are a few steps you can try right away:

01.Check Network Adapter

Sometimes the Wi-Fi adapter gets disabled or hidden after updates.

Go to Settings → Network & Internet → Advanced network settings → Change adapter options

Look for your Wi-Fi adapter (e.g., Realtek Wireless, Intel Wi-Fi)

If it’s disabled, right-click and select Enable

If missing, proceed to reinstall drivers

02.Reinstall Wireless Drivers

Corrupted or outdated drivers can cause the adapter to disappear.

Press Win + X → Device Manager → Network adapters

Expand Network adapters

Right-click your Wi-Fi adapter → Uninstall device

Restart your laptop; Windows should reinstall automatically

If not, download drivers from HP’s support website https://support.hp.com/

03.Run Windows Network Troubleshooter

The built-in troubleshooter can detect and fix common issues.

Go to Settings → System → Troubleshoot → Other troubleshooters

Select Network Adapter

Run the troubleshooter and follow on-screen instructions

04.Check BIOS Settings

Rarely, the wireless adapter may be disabled in BIOS.

Restart your laptop and press Esc/F10 to enter BIOS

Look for Internal Network Adapter

Ensure it is set to Enabled

I hope this helps.
