Envy 15 notebook
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

We moved to a new home and set up a new wifi.  My newer HP Laptop had no problem connecting to the new wifi.  I added the new wifi under settings to my older HP Envy 15 notebook, and it identifies both the 2G and 5G wifi's - but when I try and connect, it always comes back as "Can't connect to this wifi".   I don't have a way of getting online with that laptop, so I can't try some of the fixes they show online (ie. downloading new drivers, etc.).

So my big question - is  #1.  How to get online when it won't connect.  #2.  What specifically do I need to do to fix this so I can access my new wifi.

Thank you!

CJ

Also - just to clarify - I'm not sure if the windows 10 is 32 or 64 bit - so I had to guess.   Thanks!  CJ

Hi

Dunno.

Some people, like me, will change the WiFi name in the router (but keep the same password)

EG:  WhiffyOne

to

WhiffyOne2

WhiffyOne5

then a DUAL band device can connect to Either or Both.

New drivers? Worst case scenario?  Bluetooth the files across from a Phone.

USB stick them across.

So now to the/A possible solution...Eth IPv4.pngNetwork PolyGlot.png

What are your current values?
