pavilion dv6 does not recognized wireless module, Yes its installed, after windows 10 update. the wirelss button will not actuate the wirelless, color stays orange.

Hi:

 

Make a USB Ubuntu installer from the link below, select the 'Try Ubuntu without installing' option and see if you can turn on the wifi adapter in Ubuntu.

If you can, remove the ubuntu installer and see if the wifi is now active in Windows.

the Ubuntu file downloaded corrupt, trying to download again. When I did have the file (corrupt) on a flashdrive, I did not see any option on the window to "try, without installing..."

I have given this method to several forum members and it all worked for them when the bluetooth was turned off during the upgrade from W7 to W10.

 

If you can't get it to work you will have to reinstall W7 and use the HP connection manager software to turn on the BT.

 

Once the BT is on, you uninstall the connection manager software, restart the PC, verify the BT is still on, and then reinstall W10.
