Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I purchased a Ralink RT3090BC4 wireless adapter that was listed as compatible in the owner's manual. When installed the computer stalls with an "incompatible equipment installed" message. The laptop currently has the Intel Centrino 6150 adapter but I would like to have G band capability and Bluetooth, if possible. This laptop has an Intel microprocessor.

Please update BIOS and try again. Did you buy the right part # which is 630705-001 or simply from retails ? Your machine was built around 2011 therefore you need to follow the rule for wireless card.

Regards.

Thanks for the quick response.

I updated the bios to F.19. I'm not sure if this is the latest. I had a bit of trouble finding information for this unit, possibly because of its age. Is there something more recent?

The wireless interface was purchased at retail but it is an exact match for the Ralink part number.
