I just got the new Bell Pure Fibre internet installed along with a new modem. Everything works but my printer won't. I ran a printer status report and all is well, states printer is ready and connected to internet. Printer is an HP desjet 3050@ all in one, so a little older, I did have to initially install it with a disc. Cant do that now.. no disc reader on laptop. Is it possible that it is not compatible with the new super fibe modem? Thanks for any help, Teddyb3

Hi @teddyb3.
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing a compatibility issue with the new modem itself. The HP Deskjet 3050 All-in-One Printer series - J610 is a relatively older model, and it might encounter connectivity issues when connected to a new network due to outdated drivers or settings.
Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:
- Check Connectivity Settings: Ensure that the printer is connected to the same network as your laptop and the new modem. You may need to reconfigure the printer's wireless settings to connect it to the new network. Refer to the printer's manual for instructions on how to do this.
- Update Printer Drivers: Even though you don't have a disc reader, you can still download the necessary drivers and software from the HP website. Go to the HP support website, enter your printer model, and download the latest drivers for your operating system. Software and Drivers for HP Deskjet 3050 All-in-One Printer series - J610
- Wireless Setup Wizard: Run the wireless setup wizard on your printer to reconnect it to the new network. This can usually be done from the printer's control panel.
- Restart Devices: Sometimes, simply restarting the printer, laptop, and modem can resolve connectivity issues. Turn off all devices, then turn them back on again, starting with the modem, followed by the printer and laptop.
- Check Firewall Settings: Make sure that your firewall settings are not blocking the printer's connection to the network. You may need to adjust your firewall settings to allow communication with the printer.
- Reset Printer: As a last resort, you can try resetting the printer to its factory defaults. Refer to the printer's manual for instructions on how to do this.
Refer to this document: HP Deskjet 3050 All-in-One Printer series - J610 User Manual.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
