@Rubal2, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer being offline!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

It seems you are experiencing issues with your printer showing as offline. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:

Basic Troubleshooting Steps:

Check Wireless Connection:

  • Ensure that the wireless (Wi-Fi) functionality is turned on.
  • Verify that the printer is connected to your preferred network and not by an Ethernet cable as it turns off wireless capabilities.

Restart Network Components:

  • Turn off your router and printer, and then power them back on in the order of router first, then printer.
  • Sometimes turning off all networked devices (router, printer, computer) and then powering them back on can resolve network communication issues.

Run Wireless Network Test:

  • Print a Wireless Network Test page from the printer menu. This can often diagnose problems with the wireless connection.
  • This can usually be done by navigating to the printer Menu > Settings > Network > Wi-Fi > Wi-Fi Test Report > Print. Check for any recommendations provided on the printed report.

Advanced Troubleshooting Steps:

Verify That Both Devices Are Connected to The Same Network:

  • Make sure your computer’s wireless network is turned on.
  • Verify if the computer is connected to the same network as the printer.
  • Go to Control Panel > Network Connections > View Network Status and Tasks.
  • Ensure your connection status changes accordingly when you power cycle your router.
  • Click the Wi-Fi icon in the menu bar; ensure Wi-Fi is turned on and connected to the correct network.

Check Printer’s Network Status:

  • Print the printer’s Wireless Configuration page and check the network status.
  • Ensure the IP address and network status are correct.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
