Try updating the driver to the last one Intel released for the 3165 AC.

In order to recommend a possible upgrade for replacing the Wi-Fi card, I would need to know the full model number or product number of your notebook.

If the driver from the Intel site doesn't work, and you want to install a different (better) model Wi-Fi adapter, I need to know the full model number or product number of your notebook to see what your options might be.

You're very welcome.

Based on the information you provided, I believe that you can only replace the Wi-Fi card you have with the same model, and I don't know if that will fix the problem or not.

Intel 3165NGWG 1 ac 1×1 + Bluetooth 4.0 LE PCIe+USB NGFF 2230 Worldwide Combo Adapter  HP part # 806723-005

The other model Wi-Fi adapters are not as good as the one you have.

The Intel 3160 AC is older and the Realtek 8723BE card is only single band (2.4 GHz).

The reason I write that is because I had suggested to another forum member that has the same model series to upgrade the card they had installed with a different model, and it didn't work.  The BIOS probably rejected the card since it was not in the parts list in chapter 3 of the service manual.

Here is the discussion:

Below is the link to the service manual where you can find the Wi-Fi card removal and replacement procedure:

Your other option would be to use a dual band USB Wi-Fi adapter like I suggested to the other person.

Gracias,

You're very welcome.

Unfortunately, I would have no idea what could be causing the problem.

It could be a faulty card; it could be that you need to reinstall Windows and start with a fresh operating system and hope that a software issue was the problem.

Anytime.

Glad to have been of assistance.

Since you have already gone the software route, your only other option would be to replace the Wi-Fi adapter and hope that fixes the problem.
