Dear HP Support Team,

I am experiencing an issue where the Bluetooth functionality is completely missing from my HP Victus 15-fa0033dx laptop.

The problem persists despite troubleshooting.

Details of the Issue:

  1. Device Manager Absence: The Bluetooth category and the Bluetooth adapter itself are not listed in the Device Manager.

  2. Network Adapter List: The Network Adapters section only shows the following components (where the combined Wi-Fi/BT adapter should be visible):

    • MediaTek MT7921 Wi-Fi 6 802.11ax PCle Adapter

    • Realtek Gaming GbE Family Controller

    • (And several WAN Miniport entries)

  3. Diagnosis: Since the Wi-Fi component (MediaTek MT7921) is working, but the Bluetooth component (which should be part of the same chip) is missing entirely, I suspect a driver failure or a potential hardware recognition issue with the Bluetooth module.

  4. Troubleshooting Attempted: I have already tried showing hidden devices in Device Manager and attempted to reinstall the latest MediaTek Bluetooth driver from the HP website, but the device still does not appear.

Could you please provide guidance on the next steps, such as a specific BIOS setting to check or a link to a dedicated driver utility?

Thank you for your assistance

@arsany21, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Power Reset the Notebook

Shut down the laptop.

Unplug the charger.

Hold the power button for 15 seconds.

Start the laptop normally.
This forces the wireless module to reinitialize.

Re-enable the Bluetooth device at firmware level

Restart the laptop and press F10 to open BIOS Setup.

Go to Advanced or System Configuration (varies by BIOS).

Look for Wireless / WLAN / Bluetooth options.

Make sure Bluetooth is Enabled.

Save and exit.

Reset Network Configuration in Windows

Open Settings → Network & Internet.

Scroll down and select Advanced network settings.

Click Network reset → Reset now.

Restart the notebook.

This forces Windows to reload all networking components, including Bluetooth.

Reinstall HP drivers in the exact order

Uninstall any remaining MediaTek Bluetooth entries (even if hidden).

Restart.

Install the MediaTek Bluetooth driver.

Restart again.

Install the MediaTek Wi-Fi driver.

Restart.

HP devices sometimes require Wi-Fi and Bluetooth drivers to be installed in the correct sequence to activate both functions of the combo card.

Update BIOS

A corrupted or outdated BIOS can hide the Bluetooth portion of the card.

Restart the laptop.

Press F2 and run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.

  1. Shut down → unplug charger → hold power button 20–30 seconds → plug back and turn on. (Hard reset fixes 50% cases instantly)
  2. Open Device Manager → View → tick “Show hidden devices” If any Bluetooth item appears (even greyed out) → right-click → Uninstall device
  3. Install ONLY official HP drivers for 15-fa0033dx in this exact order (restart after each):
    • Chipset driver first
    • MediaTek Wi-Fi driver (this one brings Bluetooth back)
    • MediaTek Bluetooth driver last
  4. Restart → tap F10 at boot to enter BIOS
    • Go to Advanced tab (if hidden: press Ctrl + Alt + Shift + F4 together)
    • Make sure Bluetooth/Wireless is Enabled → Save & Exit (F10)
  5. Still missing? Settings → System → Troubleshoot → Other troubleshooters → Run “Bluetooth” Then open CMD as admin → type sfc /scannow → Enter → restart    https://ranksterz.com/
