hi so my computer has slow internet even if I get an ethernet cable its still at 100 and my plan speed is 12000.
also note computer came out in 2014

Your machine is an HP 15-r018dx Notebook PC, its specs

It only has 10/100BASE-T Ethernet LAN (RJ-45 connector) NIC and 1x1 802.11b/g/n WLAN adapter. As you can see they are slow for today standard.
Since your machine was built around 2014 therefore the chance to replace wifi adapter is very slim to none. Options:
(a) NIC: I'm using the following adapter for my old machine and I've got 2 spare USB 3.0 ports - You can buy more ports adapter)

(b) wifi adapter: I also use the following adapter for my machine. There are many around, you can buy a much cheaper one
