My laptop wifi suddenly went very slow about 3 weeks ago. Some websites will just not load any more. All other devices are fine so I believe it is a problem with the lap top. HP automatic support is no help.

Hi @ftd9002,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand that your laptop's Wi-Fi performance suddenly became very slow a few weeks ago, and that some websites no longer load, while other devices on the same network continue to work normally. That does suggest we should focus on the laptop itself.

To start, please try the following steps:

1. Run the Internet Connections Troubleshooter

  • In Windows, open Settings
  • Go to System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters
  • Run the Internet Connections troubleshooter and follow the prompts.

2. Restart the Network Adapter

  • Right-click the Start button and select Network Connections
  • Click Advanced network settings
  • Select Disable for the Wi-Fi adapter.
  • Wait a few seconds, then enable it again.

3. Update the Wireless Driver

  • Open Device Manager
  • Expand Network adapters
  • Right-click the wireless adapter and select Update driver
  • Select Search automatically for drivers

4. Forget and Reconnect to the Wi-Fi Network

  • Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi.
  • Select Manage known networks
  • Choose your Wi-Fi network and click Forget
  • Reconnect by entering the Wi-Fi password again.

5. Run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics for Wireless

  • Turn off the notebook.
  • Turn it back on and repeatedly tap Esc
  • Press F2 to open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics
  • Run the available Wireless Module Test or Network Test if listed.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
