Hi:

There shouldn't be a BIOS whitelist but your notebook only has one antenna cable and the 9260 requires two.

The easiest thing to do would be to buy this card and do a direct, no hassle swap.

Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11 ac 1x1 WiFi + Bluetooth 4.2 Combo Adapter (MU-MIMO supported) HP part # L17365-005.

The only place I have been able to find this model is on eBay.

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=L17365-005&_sacat=0&_sop=15

The card has the same throughput as the RTL8723BE on the 2.4 GHz wifi band, but on the 5.0 GHz wifi band with an AC router, it has a maximum throughput of 433 MBPS.

Paul_Tikkanen  thanks for your reply. but i need to mention one thing my laptop has 2 antenna cables

You're very welcome.

You opened it up and checked already?

Because normally there is only one antenna cable connected to the RTL8723 M.2 card.

Don't rely on the pictures in the service manual.

If your notebook has two antenna cables, the 9260 non-vPro card should work just fine, since your notebook has an Intel processor.

Sorry i opened the cover. Yes there is only one antenna. So now i can't use intel 9260? What if i connect only 1 antenna,  do i get any issues?

I didn't think it had two antennas.

The reception may not be as good as with two antennas, and the bluetooth won't work at all.

Connect the single antenna cable to the wifi card's antenna terminal labeled as 'Main.'

I would get the RTL8821CE and everything should work just fine.

Thanks again. Final question so in the manual it shows "Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165
802.11 ac 1x1 WiFi + BT 4.2 Combo" so can i use it then. Cause realtek is not worthy for upgrade in my opinion.

And here 1×1 means tx/rx i think means 1 antenna right. So, then can i use other modules with 1x1 in it?

You're very welcome.

1 x 1 has nothing to do with the number of antenna cables the wifi card requires.

The Intel 3165 also requires two antenna cables.

The only difference is the wifi reception will be better, but you still won't have bluetooth.

I agree with you 100%.  An Intel wifi card is much better than the Realtek one, but if you want both the wifi and bluetooth to work, you have no choice but to go with the Realtek RTL8821CE.

I happen to have one of those 8821CE cards that came with an HP 255 G7 notebook I got on eBay for cheap, and I was extremely worried that I was going to have issues with that wifi card, and so far, so good.   No problems at all.

Okay but im from india and from ebay i find only 3 products which can't be delivered. And in ali express its price starts from 370 Inr donno whether they are original or not. And funny thing is intel 3165 is just 1.69USD and reviews were good and i just want to give it a try if it doesn't work then i definitely go for realtek you suggested. Thanks again

Anytime.

Glad to have been of assistance.

The 3165 will work just fine and will have the same throughput as the RTL8821CE, just no Bluetooth  because it needs the second antenna to have BT reception.
