I want to wirelessly display to an LG Smart TV, my Processor is a core i3-4100M 2.50 GHZ, Intel HD Graphics 4600. Its OS is Windows 7 (64 bit), I would think I could use Widi but it doesnt have it on it. Its been discontinued so I cant download it. Does anyone know if I can use it or where I can get it for this type of machine... Thank you!

Hi:
This version might work for you...
4.2.19.0 Sep 25, 2013
This package contains the Intel Wireless Display Software for supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system. The Intel Wireless Display Software enables users to display information and video on a remote monitor or TV that is equipped with a device that supports the Intel Wireless Display (WiDi) technology. This software only runs on systems that meet the prerequisites specified by Intel.

What model wifi adapter does your notebook have?
It has to be an Intel wifi card that is widi capable.
If you have an Intel wifi card that is widi capable, I found this newer version of the widi software.
Uninstall the version you just tried and see if this one works...
5.1.20.0

No, unfortunately, that is the older model BCM card that is not the one you need.
I had the same problem as you did...mine is the 350 G1 and I assumed that the BCM 43228 was the supported card, but it isn't.
So, what you can do is easily replace the card with this one, and you should be all set...that's what I did, and have AC wifi to boot.

That model wifi card should be easily available on Amazon or eBay. Shouldn't cost more than $20 - $25.
Do your search by the HP part number, not the model of the wireless card.
I'm on W10 now and widi is built in. No need for the addtional widi software.
Here is the link to the service manual for your notebook.
The wifi card R & R procedure can be found in chapter 4.

Yep.
That is the same message I got. Just buy the wifi card I posted above, and you will be all set.
Make sure you uninstall the Broadcom bluetooth software and driver and the Broadcom wifi driver before installing the Intel 7260.
This is the HP part number and description for the newer widi capable version Broadcom BCM943228 HMB wifi adapter that our notebooks didn't come with.
